The Utah Rural Opioid Healthcare Consortium, or UROHC, brings together providers, health care entities, federally qualified health centers, public and behavioral health organizations, and nonprofit organizations to coordinate resources, expertise, and efforts to combat the opioid issues in Beaver, Carbon, and Emery Counties in Utah.

It was found that from 2014-2017 opioids were prescribed at a higher rate in rural areas than in urban areas. The CDC released on article about prescribing opioids and rates have decreased significantly.
